About

2026 marks the 22nd edition of the annual South African HORRORFEST film festival & Halloween event!

The exciting diverse Halloween season festival will run at The Labia Theatre across 28 October - 8 November with new, rare and classic movies & short films from around the world, which you're unlikely to see anywhere else, The Makabra Ensemble's live silent film soundtrack performance, Bloody Parchment dark literature event (at Exclusive Books venue tba), Halloween dress-up, Rocky Horror Picture Show audience participation screening, 16mm classic film screening and more.

We're also resurrecting the streaming chapter again this year for those outside of Cape Town!

Thus far the classic movie selection tickets are live, including:
