"The best Lecture I have heard in a long time. Baroness Valerie left us with a lot to chew on! I would have appreciated for the Q&A section to be a lot longer, so as to give the audience much more time to engage the speaker. I got a distinct impression that she was keen to be engaged by all. This could have been done through shortening the number of people and the length of the speeches before she gave her address. "

"I found the keynote address interesting, inspiring, provocative, relevant and informative. The lecture forced me to think about the social justice challenges we are facing in South Africa, not only as government but as civil society, business corporations, communities and higher learning institutions. As a practitioner and citizen, I will reflect on my own practice and the unique spaces where i engage and have opportunity to make a contribution. At the end of the lecture I was left inspired, motivation and committed to be more intentional about the work I do. The lecture served as a reminder that building a South Africa that serves all its people will require a government, citizens and institutions that are focused and intentional in addressing all the systemic/structural issues & mechanisms that entrench inequality and exclusion. "
