"The Programme: compiled with insight and imagination; thoroughly researched, beautifully laid-out, with a touch of humour. It signposts the performance beautifully for the benefit of both firsttime,- as well as seasoned concertgoers.
The school choirs and directors: Congratulations to both on the thoroughness of preparation. Beautiful clarity of lines were delivered with musicality and sensitivity, with beautiful diction throughout; also disciplined, yet easy and relaxed conduct, spoke of this being a way of life at school. Well done!
The Visuals: Screen visuals, appropriately and timeously projected, were brutal and harrowing, and brought to mind the suffering humankind inflicts on itself, a timely and relevant reminder of our present condition.
The lighting was cleverly devised, creating atmospheres of warmth, hope, and faith, also the starkness of the hatred and chaos that war engenders.
Windworx, SUSWE and CT Symphony Choir: These are fellow musiciàns and singers whose skill and response to the conductor, and obvious dedication and professionalism leaves one with a deep appreciation and admiration.
The Soloists: Represented all the Abrahamic faiths in dignified, confident, soulful, and convincing performances, and took us to significant emotional depths of feeling.
THE CONDUCTOR:
Levi Alexander is always well-prepared- precision, musicality and a keen awareness of human nature, are the watchwords as he draws out the performers to deliver the best they have to offer. Charismatic and professional always, and standing in mutual solidarity with the performers under his direction, his warmth and obvious enjoyment of the art, is a joy to observe. Long may he continue.
