On Saturday 2. December, The Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strand Street will pulsate to the glorious sounds of Bach.
The Symphony Choir of Cape Town will be presenting an exciting programme of Advent and Christmas music, featuring Bach’s Advent Cantata, BWV 61 and his much loved Weihnachtsoratorium (Christmas Oratorio).
Both these works illustrate Bach’s musical genius and are replete with arias, chorales and choruses, which sparkle with beautiful ornamentation and shimmer with interesting melodies and harmonies.
The concert begins at 7:00 pm. There will be a pre-concert talk to heighten your understanding of the music and enhance your enjoyment of the evening. The talk will begin at 5:45 pm.
