Arcon Park Mandela Month Fundraiser

This Mandela Month, and in memory of the Father of our Nation, we are reaching out to you to hold on tight to our future generation. Children are the ones who are very vital for deciding how the world is gonna be after some years. So, if one can do some good in the life of a child then there can be change, at least the slightest change, in the world to come! If nothing else, we must remember that these young, innocent souls need us. And they need our help, our trust, and our belief that tomorrow can be magic. We can make magic by doing things today for our children so that when they grow up, they will believe in humanity. We can listen to our “inner child” and hope, love, and believe that things will be better because we will want to do things to MAKE it better!

The objective of this fundraiser is to help the Sedibeng Children's Haven, located on the premises of Eventide Old Age Home in Duncanville, Vereeniging. The Haven operates as a private non-profit organization, registered as a Section 21 company, and offers a place of safety homes to children between the ages of 2 to 14 years old. Sedibeng Children's Haven offers temporary safe care to children that have been removed from their caregivers due to neglect and/or abuse, physical care, emotional care, enrolling the children at a suitable school/nursery, engaging children with fun activities to promote their self-esteem as well as preparing children for their exit plan. Children of all races, cultures, and religions receive care, treatment, and protection at the Haven. Children identified by the Child Protection Unit and relevant Welfare organizations are housed during the children’s court investigation and transition procedures. Approximately 337 children have already passed through the Haven. These children have all benefited from the positive environment and specialized assistance provided by the Haven. The organization is in desperate need of a backup water system to endeavor to make the children’s stay at the Haven as comfortable as possible.

Arcon Park Shopping Centre needs your help to raise R50 000 to assist them with installing a backup water system which is indispensable to sustaining healthy livelihoods and maintaining these kids’ dignity.
