Inhuman Resources Fundraiser

About

Inhuman Resources. A 3rd year experimental film about a group of washed-up mythological creatures that agree to go to a (In)Human Resources workshop to save their company and reclaim their title as the most-feared creatures of South Africa.

The monsters stand to represent certain practices within South Africa in the sense that used to be fundamental to the function of community, that have since lost their relevance in a post-modern society. Whereas Thandi, the HR lady, represents the post modern South African attitude towards activities and ideas such as superstition and mythology. We tend to view our mythology jokingly and not taking it seriously. On a critical level, it relates to the mass rejection or disconnect from African spiritual notions and that is because of the distance between us and our history, combined with the adoption of western ideals. We aim to revive the art of storytelling traditions and bring these characters to life again, not from a fear standpoint but rather a way to continue the legacy of the stories that our families have passed on from generation to generation.

All money raised will go towards the overall production equipment, props, costumes and transport of the crew and camera equipment.

The film will be screed at AFDA Cape Town on the weekend of June 16 2023 ; )
