Overberg Wildfire Volunteers

Overberg Wildfire Volunteers - OWV are a small, but growing volunteer, non-profit, non-governmental organisation comprised of volunteers that give of their time and expertise in helping to combat wildfire within the Overberg and surrounding areas. We work alongside Overstand fire department and defer to their regulations.

We adhere strictly to the National Veld and Forest Fire Act, NO.101 of 1998 at all times, along with the FPA regulations.

Our crew members are a mix of already skilled and trained firefighters and new recruits going through training out of fire season, which is May to October each year. We do accept new members throughout the year.
