The Talking Point strives to have an impact on every individual in South Africa, and in doing so reach families, communities, businesses and schools, in every sphere of South Africa. Not excluding any community or turning away from any trauma, its cause and the solutions. We are taking hands with Survivor Empowerment & Support Programme (SESP) a survivor-founded and led empowerment and human rights organization rooted in feminist and abolitionist principles. The Talking Point and our communities want to assist SESP in fulfilling their mission: to economically empower prostituted women so that they may be able to create a life outside of the system of prostitution. The organisation has three programme focuses: Empowerment, Public Education and Advocacy. The Talking Point’s fundraising initiative aims to buy sewing machines, which will be used to manufacture masks for the international market as well as products for the local market and communities.
