ABOUT

3-day Practical Systematic Innovation (PSI) Workshop in Cape Town

NB: The three PSI workshop days (07h30 for 08h00 to 17h00 Friday to 16h30) are Monday 20 May, Wednesday 22 May, and Friday 24 May.

Non-consecutive days allow participants to consolidate new knowledge, abilities, and skills transferred to them.

For individuals, teams, and organisations. Accelerate innovation capabilities and capacity while you improve innovation results.

For managers. Imagine how much easier and more productive your life will become when innovation has a creative coherence and therefore is easy to plan, organise, lead, and monitor.

*Innovation Knowledge* Learn about validated innovation principles, trends and methods. Next we will go on to consider an innovation opportunity or problem. Later we will use specific methods to get to a well-defined problem or opportunity statement. Our work is completed when we ace analysis and solution stages.

*Innovation Abilities* Are gained through practical application (you will actually be innovating by yourself and/or in small groups). Be the innovator!

*Innovation Skills* Believe me we are going to work to actually grow skills.to actively innovate or improve products, services, processes or systems..

A. Problem or opportunity definition and resource inventory.

  1. Apply the innovation principles, trends and methods to the innovation challenge you have set yourself. This process brings about many initial solution ideas.
  2. Extend the number and quality of problem and solution ideas by taking into account time contexts - past, present and future, and space contexts - system, super-system and subsystem contexts.
  3. Find and make an inventory of free or cheap resources in the problem context that may solve your problem without high costs..

B. Problem or opportunity analysis.

  1. Learn how to represent your problem to explain it clearly (even to yourself!)
  2. Learn how to draw the smallest unit of innovation and then how to combine these units if necessary.
  3. Use details of the analysis to ensure sharp focus on solving the main problem or contradiction.

C. Problem or opportunity solution.

  1. Get 60% more ideas by volume and more relevant and powerful (often breakthrough) ideas in this phase than most other innovation approaches.
  2. For great solution ideas: Trim, multiply or divide objects; Activate, deactivate, vary object attributes; and move functions to different objects.
  3. Add a bit of *the fantastic* To Add many more solution ideas from a better understanding and from a much enlarged solution space.
  4. 5, 6, 7, 8... limited space does not allow me to finish.

The workshop combines two systematic innovation approaches to ensure 1, 2, 3 days to Innovator!

Benefits compound to individuals, teams and organisations as they solve more innovation challenges in the following months.

A common language is gained by all which helps all to understand and to discuss innovation progress more clearly.

Each participant gets a large 4-lever file with reference notes and innovation templates required for the workshop activities.

Each day participants get coffee/teas/snacks upon arrival, at and at mid-morning/afternoon. A light lunch and soft drinks are also provided.

A Novation Now Practical Systematic Innovation certificate is issued for participants achieving fifty percent or higher on evaluation.

A Novation Now Practical Systematic Innovation attendance certificate is issued to participants with an evaluation less than fifty percent.
