ABOUT

The second film screening event at #CTAFF2019, will feature a blend of high energy action sports together with thought-provoking personal journeys from some of the world's top athletes and content creators. Venture into the Himalayan hinterlands with three mountain bikers, meet an endurance athlete fighting deep depression by running hundreds of miles, and travel to the Patagonian highlands and deserts with two professional skiers. Featuring films from award winning filmmakers Kevin Landry, Ben Moon and Thibaud Duchosal, be spell bound by amazing landscapes, athletes pushing the boundaries in their sport and stories that will captivate your true adventurous spirit. Presentations by adventure photographer Ewald Sadie and one of SA's top vloggers Chris Rogers, with giveaways by Sealand valued at R5000.00. Doors open at 6:00pm, films start at 8:00pm!

NO QUARTER

My legs trembled as I stood my ground, struggling to maintain a foothold in the finely decomposed detritus with a heavy backpack and bike on my shoulders.

The pitch of the mountainside had become preposterously steep. Simply looking up at the ridgeline above could easily send me and my top-heavy load tomahawking backward down the yawning scree slope below. A LIGHT IN THE SHADOW

Legendary Canadian ultrarunner Rob Krar has joined forces with the Movember Foundation to raise awareness of the crisis in men’s mental health.

Rob became a star in the ultra-long-distance running world after winning second place in his first 100-miler in 2013. But, his biggest struggle isn’t running 100 miles. For Rob, Movember is far more personal. The short film offers a glimpse into how long-distance running and talking about his mental health have helped Rob from Hamilton, Ontario, deal with the pain of his chronic depression.

Professional wingsuit BASE jumper, JeanJacques Wallis embarks on a journey to climb and summit one of the wildest peaks in Southern Africa with the ultimate goal in mind: to fly back down.

In this short film, join Jean Jacques on one of his preparatory flights in the Western Cape as jumps a stunning line in the Slanghoek Mountains near Worcester.

Patagonia, the Southern end of South America, where the border between fantasy and reality disappears.

Between deserts and mountains, Arc’teryx athletes Johannes Hoffmann and Thibaud Duchosal are embarking on a 1500 km journey to the end of the world, in company of local gaucho skier Lucas Swieykowski. Penetrating a territory where the wind reigns as master is not an easy task and reserves a lot of uncertainties. "Grand Prize" winner at Morocco Adventure Film Festival and "Action Film of the Year" at Nordic Adventure Film Festival.
