Jazz on Bree in association with Youngblood Arts and Culture Development & Music Exchange presents the WOMAN IN JAZZ SERIES a Women’s Months special edition -

District 6 born Jazz singer, writer and composer Ami Williams started singing at the age of 12.

Although graduating Bcom Ind. Psych. leading to Health Forensics she was drawn to her love of Jazz music. Its thanks to her legendary pianist and mentor Gerry Spencer that gave her the opportunity to perform in local Jazz clubs in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Ami Williams under the management of the late Quinton Raaf also performed at the Cape Town Cape Town Jazzathon 1999, 2001, 2003 – Joined on stage by Hugh Masekela was truly a memorable highlight in her career.
She also performed at the Jazzathon in 2017 & 2018 respectively.
Ami Williams was also privileged to work with Cape Town’s best such as Alvin Dyers, Wayne Bosch, Sammy Webber, Andre Petersen, Alvin Hendricks, VJR, Kevin Gibson, Camillo Lombard, The late Eddie Jooste, late Basil Moses, late Nick Le Roux and many more.

Her most recent performances was at the Crypt, AJAX, Seelan, Alliance Francais and corporate events. Ami Williams recently recorded her single: “Joy Of My Life” dedicated to her daughter and features Camillo Robert Lombard.
