ABOUT
The Improv Cart Presents: The Annual House of Improv
Four Houses. One Stage. Infinite Possibilities.
House of Improv is The Improv Cart’s annual celebration of the improv community in Cape Town.
Four Houses have been assembled by bringing together improvisors of mixed experience and playing styles from across the local community, joined by Improv Cart member players. Each House, coached by a senior Improv Cart instructor, will band together as an ensemble and develop their own distinct style.
The inaugural event format will be Longform Montage, where inspired by just a single audience suggestion, each House Team will perform a 30-min set of completely improvised scenes, characters and stories. Everything is unscripted, unpredictable, and created from the collaborative imaginations of the performers.
Expect surprise and hilarity! Bizarre traditions. Unhinged rivalries. Revelry and camaraderie! Four Houses, each bringing their own strong vibes and unique dynamics to the stage.
So join Houses Jaunt (House of Journey), Muster (House of Gathering), Yarn (House of Story) and Gambol (House of Play), as they come together for one special night of improv celebration.
