What is a Schultüte?

In Germany, the first day of school is celebrated with one of the country's most cherished traditions—the Schultüte, or school cone. This large, beautifully decorated cone is filled with sweet treats, stationery, and little surprises to make the start of a child's school journey even more exciting.

Traditionally, Schultüten are handcrafted from cardboard, fabric, felt, or any materials that inspire your creativity, and decorated to reflect your child's personality and interests.

Not feeling particularly crafty? Don't worry—I’m here to help! At the workshop, you'll receive a ready-made cone, all the materials you'll need, including cardboard, fabrics, ribbons and decorative elements, as well as plenty of guidance to help you create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind Schultüte.

Once you've finished decorating, all that's left is to fill it with your child's favourite treats and school essentials. If you're looking for inspiration, have a browse through our online shop, where you'll find theme ideas and suggested fillers.

Please note that our workshops are designed for parents and caregivers only, giving them the perfect opportunity to enjoy an evening of creativity while meeting other parents.

Can't make one of the advertised dates? Simply get in touch! If you have a group of parents who would like to attend together, I'd be delighted to arrange a private workshop on a date that suits everyone.

How to Book

1. Select your preferred workshop date.
2. Choose your preferred time from the drop-down menu.
3. Select your favourite design or theme.
4. Choose the primary colour of your Schultüte.
5. Complete your secure payment by credit card.
6. Join us at the workshop and enjoy a fun, creative evening!

If you'd prefer a fully customised, handcrafted Schultüte, please place your order through our online shop rather than booking a workshop.

Workshop Information

Your workshop ticket includes admission for one person to the selected workshop, together with all the materials needed to create one Schultüte.

Each workshop is limited to 10 participants, ensuring plenty of individual guidance and a relaxed atmosphere. Workshops will proceed regardless of the number of bookings.

If You Can't Attend

If your plans change after booking, don't worry—you have several options:

• Transfer your booking to another available workshop date.
• Take the workshop home. We'll provide all the materials, along with a step-by-step tutorial, so you can complete your Schultüte at your own pace.
• Have your Schultüte professionally made. Your workshop fee will be credited towards the purchase of a bespoke Schultüte from our online shop, and you'll simply pay the difference, if applicable.
• Receive a full refund.
