De Nieuwe Ridderorde Dramatised Reading Series

Join us for an dramatised reading event exploring Charles Boniface’s De Nieuwe Ridderorde (1832), the first South African play, presented in a contemporary English adaptation.

Hosted at Glacier, Karoo Square, Pretoria, this ongoing series invites audiences to experience the play one scene at a time through live dramatised readings. Each event explores a different section of the play and offers a unique opportunity to witness a historic South African work as it is developed for contemporary performance.

Whether you are an actor, theatre enthusiast, student, history lover, or simply looking for a different cultural evening out, you are warmly invited to join us.

Actors interested in future Boniface Development Labs are encouraged to attend the readings, experience the work firsthand, and speak to the organiser after the event.
