ABOUT
Eatsplorer experiences comes to the market with an exciting collaboration seeing Oranjezicht City Farm Market and Eatsplorer joining hands to bring you awesome foodie experiences in the heart of the buzzing market, and beyond!
Overview
There is nothing that motivates all of us at Eatsplorer more than discovering the best food and drink experiences and championing those folk whose good work brings great food and drink to the table. So when Sheryl Ozinsky, co-founder of Oranjezicht City Farm (OZCF) suggested working together and adding some experiences to their market’s incredible offering, we jumped for joy.
What started out as a small produce market to help offset the costs of running the OZCF – an historic inner-city urban vegetable garden – has boomed into a weekly Saturday institution for Capetonians.
Every Saturday between 08.30 am and 2 pm, the V&A Waterfront’s Granger Bay site comes alive. The market has become a must-do stop on locals’ weekly itinerary, not only for the quality produce, amazing food stalls and convivial atmosphere, but for the fact that it’s a place with a whole lot of heart.
Now the market will host a wide range of fun and informative food-centric experiences once a month throughout the year, led by a rotating lineup of food and drinks experts.
The first of these experiences take place at the market on Saturday 23rd of December 2017 featuring a master-class by wild food specialist Roushanna Gray of Veld and Sea (for kids and adults) and a mushroom cultivation workshop by Cape Town’s original Mushroom Fundi Gary Goldman. Make a point of planning your festive season market visits around these!
