ABOUT
Stadskoor / -Choir / -iKwayara is a Cape Town-based chamber choir of approximately 70 voices, celebrating choral music, community and connection. Since its founding in 2025, the choir has become a vibrant part of the city's choral landscape, rooted in artistic exploration, creative collaboration and a shared love of singing. Embracing diverse musical expressions, Stadskoor brings together South African cultures, creativity and the unique voices of its members.
This year-end programme weaves together newly composed choral works inspired by Bibi Slippers' poetry collection Soekenjin with an eclectic selection of popular songs exploring the many dimensions of love.
From the haunting romance of Seal's Kiss from a Rose to the introspection of Tori Amos' Pretty Good Year, Radiohead's Creep and the yearning of The Chicks' Cowboy Take Me Away, the programme journeys through love in all its beauty, longing, vulnerability and complexity.
A celebration of the joy of making music together, and of the many ways we love, lose, hope and connect.
Kids welcome :)
