Dié kategorie wat gevestigde filmmakers befondsing en ’n geleentheid bied om hul vakmanskap ten toon te stel, is vir die derde jaar deel van die fees. ’n Voorwaarde vir deelname aan hierdie kategorie is dat die filmmakers ook minder ervare tegniese spanlede moet mentor.
This category, which offers established filmmakers funding and a platform to showcase their craft at the festival, is part of the festival for the third time this year. A condition for participation in the category is that the filmmakers mentor less-experienced team members.

Op pad na hul motor na ’n aand van opwindende lewensbesluite, word ’n egpaar onkant betrap en lei hul uiteenlopende reaksies tot nuwe ontnugterings oor mekaar. Hulle moet nie net hul weg huis toe vind deur die donker strate van Observatory nie, maar ook ’n manier terug na mekaar toe.
On their way to their car after an evening of exciting life decisions, a couple is caught off guard, and their conflicting reactions lead to disillusionments about each other. As they navigate the dark streets of Observatory, they must find not only a way home, but a way back to each other.

Lionel is 'n professionele ry-wagter – hy sit sodat jy nie hoef nie: Binnelandse Sake, die lisensiekantoor, noem dit en hy is daar. Dis ’n lewe, al voel dit nie altyd so nie. Toe ’n vreemdeling hom aanstel om by sy sterwende ma se siekbed te wag, neem Lionel die werk huiwerig aan. Alleen in haar eksentrieke huis vol herinneringe begin hy ontrafel wie hierdie vrou regtig was. ’n Musikant. ’n Avonturier. Iemand wat werklik geleef het. Lionel is a professional queuer sitter – he sits so you don’t have to: Home Affairs, the licensing office, name it and he’s there. It’s a living, if not much of a life. When a stranger hires him to wait at his dying mother’s bedside, Lionel reluctantly takes the job. Alone in her eccentric home filled with memories, he begins piecing together who this woman really was. A musician. An adventurer. Someone who actually lived. As her final hours tick away, Lionel is forced to face a question he’s been avoiding for a very long time: What exactly is he waiting for?

Die Silwerskermfees bou daarop voort om sy aanbod van onafhanklike kortfilms uit te brei. Tradisioneel was die meerderheid kortfilms wat by die fees vertoon is, geïnisieer, gefinansier en gementor deur die Silwerskermfees-kortfilmprojek. Hierdie jaar spog die fees weer met onafhanklike kortfilms deur plaaslike filmmakers in ’n verskeidenheid genres en tale.
The Silwerskerm Festival builds on its offering of independent short films. Traditionally the majority of short films screened at the festival was initiated, financed and mentored by the Silwerskermfees Short Film Project. This year, yet again, the festival boasts independent short films by local filmmakers in a variety of genres and indigenous South African languages.

In the volatile moments after a car crash, before the authorities arrive, a hot-headed yet desperate tow truck driver fiercely protects his tow. But the situation quickly spirals out of his control.
