Full Circle with Lynelle Kenned & Stefan Lombard

Soprano Lynelle Kenned and pianist Stefan Lombard have established

themselves as one of South Africa's most engaging and versatile

musical partnerships. Renowned for their musical chemistry and

emotional connection, they bring elegance, virtuosity, and heart to

every performance.

Their collaboration began in 2014 with the UK tour of Cape Town

Opera’s Showboat, and over the past decade, their partnership has

featured in acclaimed productions such as David Kramer’s Orpheus in

Africa, Valentines under the Stars, and the Cape Philharmonic

Orchestra Community Gala Concerts. Their musical journey has taken

them to striking destinations such as the Namib Desert, Hillcrest

Quarry, Casa Labia in Muizenberg, and the Klein Karoo Klassique in

Oudtshoorn, as well as an unforgettable gala appearance in the

underground caves of the Güray Ceramic Museum in Cappadocia,

Turkey.

Their repertoire is as diverse as their audiences - spanning opera, art

song, musical theatre, and orchestral crossover works - all delivered

with a shared sensitivity and creative flair that bridge the worlds of

classical and contemporary performance.

Beyond the stage, both artists share a deep commitment to education

and community engagement. Two initiatives especially close to their

hearts are the Franschhoek Hospitality Academy and Artscape’s

Outreach Programme, where they regularly contribute their talents to

projects that combine music, cuisine, fundraising, and youth

development.

In 2025, they received the kykNET Fiësta Award for ONTBAN

(Unbanned), chosen as the Best Music-Driven Production across all

South African arts festivals.

Their seamless blend of artistry, warmth, and sophistication continues to

inspire and delight audiences, affirming their place among South

Africa’s most distinctive artistic duos.
