MASEBOTSANA

MASEBOTSANA is a student-based production that explores the pressures of beauty standards in society and the constant need to “fix” oneself. Through this work, we ask an important question: "When will it ever be enough?"

This experimental production makes use of absurdism and physical theatre, blending these elements within the genre of comedy to deliver a powerful and thought-provoking message. While humorous in its presentation, MASEBOTSANA highlights the dangers of excessive self-alteration and society’s obsession with perfection. It challenges audiences to reflect on the consequences of constantly pursuing unattainable beauty ideals, including the physical and emotional harm that can result from practices such as excessive Botox and fillers.
