The Children’s Home is a 24 hour residential care facility that renders primary care, therapeutic services and development programs to 150 children from the North West Province. The children have been found in need of care and protection, in terms of the Children’s Act 38 of 2008.

The SAVF Rethabile Klerksdorp CYCC is dependent on donations from the community, businesses and companies to help ensure a homely environment where children can grow and strive.

We have 8 House units on our premises with 15 – 20 children in each house unit. A typical day in the CYCC includes the following:

• Providing 3 Meals a day.
• Ensuring medical/psychological/physical care
• Transporting children to various schools/sporting activities.
• Transporting children to church/recreational activities
• Providing adequate school wear and everyday wear.

Overall we aim to provide the best possible care and restore dignity to all of our 150 children.

Here is what we need to achieve the above:

Extremely Important

• A larger bus to transport children to school and other activities/sponsorship to outsource transport.

Highly Important

• Linen/pillows/duvet/comforters for 150 single beds
• Bath Towels
• Tekkies (white in colour for school purposes)

Kitchen utensils/appliances, crockery, cutlery

• Clothes for everyday wear
• Hot shorts for girls
• Underwear and socks
• Toiletries (sjampoo, conditioner, relaxer, deodrant and roll on for girls and boys, body lotion, vaseline, glycorine)
• Bread spreads for lunch boxes
• Tin foods and breakfast cereals
• Boys and girls shoes.
• School bags/ School Shoes

Important

• School stationary like books, pens, colouring pencils, clue, sicors, school calculators ect.
• Hair necessities (black & navy wool)
• Hair clippers for boys hair
• Cleaning material e.g. washing powder, handy andy, pine gel etc.
• Clothing hangers for clothes
• Clothing line Pegs
• Pajamas and slippers
