ABOUT
Origami Cup South Africa 2026
The Origami Cup has officially come to South Africa and we are excited to bring this celebration of coffee brewing to our local community.
What is the Origami Cup?
Designed in Japan, the Origami Wave Dripper is famous for its beautiful and functional design, as well as its versatility as a pour-over brewer. The Origami Cup celebrates this versatility and invites competitors to explore the Origami Wave’s capabilities. It’s a competitive tournament based purely on taste. Judges evaluate the cups blind, voting for their favourite based strictly on flavour.
Who is this for?
Everyone! We’re calling on passionate home brewers and seasoned professionals alike to step up and showcase their skills. Participation is open to everyone because the equipment and coffee will be supplied.
If you just love coffee and want to observe, we’re also offering spectator tickets which give you access to the full event which includes the competition and a number of other coffee experiences.
Competitor and spectator spaces are limited, so click on “Tickets” to select the correct ticket type and secure your place early.
More Than Just a Competition
Alongside the competition, we will also have other things to enjoy, including:
- A brewing station featuring Nucleus Coffee Tools equipment
- A comparative tasting station exploring how water quality affects coffee brewing
- An Origami Popup Shop
- A coffee brew bar
