Nduduzo Makhathini - Solo Piano

The Sankayi Jazz Series is a curated live music experience that brings some of South Africa’s leading jazz artists to an intimate, listening-focused setting.

Hosted at Sankayi Restaurant & Lounge, the series offers a space where music, atmosphere, and hospitality come together, creating a consistent home for jazz in Johannesburg.

Nduduzo Makhathini is an internationally acclaimed pianist, composer, and recording artist whose work blends African spirituality, tradition, and contemporary jazz. Known for deeply expressive and immersive performances, he is widely regarded as one of the leading voices in South African jazz today.

Doors open at 18:00, and guests are encouraged to arrive early and enjoy dinner before the performance.

Music begins at 20:00 and will be presented in two sets in a relaxed, seated environment.
