ABOUT

Listening Spaces Vol VII

Richard Strauss spent years obsessing over a mountain he couldn’t stop thinking about. The result was An Alpine Symphony — 50 minutes of music that follows a single day on the Alps, from darkness before dawn to the storm that sends you back down.

We’re listening to it together in downtown Johannesburg. No mountains in sight. That’s the point.

Saturday 16 May. 14:00. Bridge Books, Marshalltown. R70. Limited seating.

Ag shem, Strauss would have loved Joburg.
