More on Angus:

Angus Douglas is a Cape Town-based writer, storyteller, and theatre-maker with a strong interest in South Africa's cultural and historical landscape. As an expert on Herman Charles Bosman, he has co-written and performed (with Tim Sandham) in several plays presented at the Herman Charles Bosman Literary Festival in Groot Marico, including Oom Schalk Strikes Back, The Great Bosman Quiz, Hidden Agender, A Year in the Marico, and Bosman & Mynhardt: A Tribute.

He directed and co-wrote the long-running Going Gooding, a Play on Radio with Tim Sandham and Malcolm Gooding, which led to the co-authored memoir Confessions of a Voice Artist (2020). Angus is also the author of South Africa: In the Name of the Father (2023), a searching attempt to lay the country's ghosts to rest.

More recently he has focused on the life and legacy of Jan Smuts, a central figure in South Africa's first fifty years. His creative work breathes fresh life into South Africa's conflicted past, blending humor, insight, and performance to find meaning in tragedy.
