Battle Of ISandlwana Memorial Concert And Walk
The Mbuso Khoza Institute for Culture in partnership with IJadu Le Afrika Centre for Arts and Heritage presents the Battle Of ISandlwana Memorial Concert And Walk.
The event will take place on 25 January 2026 at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg.
ISandlwana Walk is a unifying cultural pilgrimage and commemoration of the 1879 Battle of ISandlwana, and is a tool for heritage education and social cohesion.
The walk sees artists, youth, traditional and political heads, writers, community leaders, the media, schools and local citizens all walk to the various spots which hold a part of ISandlwana and Zulu Dynasty history.
Held in Johannesburg for the 2rd time, the walk commences at 10am and will conclude with an enchanted amahubo music concert at 3pm.
The ISandlwana concert takes audiences through the different aspects and stages of the Anglo-Zulu war through song, poetry and dance, which includes periodised music from the Battle of Isandlwana, the Battle of Rorke's Drift and Battle of Ulundi.
