BizNews post BNC#8 golf day sponsored by Shyft

A tradition of the annual BizNews Conference is a golf competition for the David Carte Memorial Trophy - named after one of South Africa's best financial journalists who, for decades, selflessly and courageously provided those he served with the content of the highest quality and with fierce independence. David and BizNews founder Alec Hogg spent over than half of their working lives as colleagues on the Rand Daily Mail; Finance Week; the Sunday Times; and Moneyweb.

The field is limited to 48 players and this year is sponsored by Shyft, a long-standing partner of BizNews. Partricipation is restricted to BNC delegates.

Tee off is from 8:42am at Hermanus Golf Club, one of the best in South Africa. The competition is betterball stableford with a random draw for partners.

As a consequence of the Shyft sponsorship, green fees for BNC delegates is a modest R250 - a massive discount to the normal visitor fee and in line with the payment required by members. The Shyft sponsorship also covers the cost of hiring golf carts, food and drink at halfway house; and pizzas after the game.

There will be a post-event prizegiving.
