Essential Scorpion Sting First Response Presentation

Scorpions represent a conundrum within the human mind. It is true that a few species of scorpion are venomous enough to cause harm to us and in rare cases death. However, at the same time they are a vital component of those natural systems that give us life!

This event consists of a 45 minute presentation followed by a 20 minute question and answer session and report back from the South African Snakebite Symposium. The presentation is based upon the contents of Jonathan Leeming's book, Essential Scorpion Sting First Response. It offers a new and innovative science-based approach to scorpion stings that is easy to understand and put into practice. The presentation answers 2 very important questions:

• How can you reduce the chance of being stung by a scorpion.
• If a sting does occur, how can you ensure the best possible outcome for stings in humans and animals?

The Q&A afterward offers the audience the opportunity to ask any questions. Jonathan will discuss some key outcomes of the South African Snakebite Symposium (22nd and 23rd November).
