JMS PRESENTS ELVIN GANIYEV with FRANÇOIS DU TOIT

This virtuoso violinist – who has a high-flying concert career and performs with greats such as Zubin Mehta, Vladimir Ashkenazy and Fazil Say - will be playing great sonatas of the French 19th and 20th century repertoire. He will be partnered by pianist François du Toit, undoubtedly one of South Africa’s most accomplished musicians.

César Franck : Sonata in A for Violin & Piano

The Johannesburg Musical Society returns to the Linder Auditorium in 2026 for a series featuring prestigious artists from Spain, Bulgaria, Russia, Azerbaijan, the UK and South Africa. Eight specially curated concerts shine the spotlight squarely on pianists, with a sprinkling of strings. All the artists have won multiple competitions and are highly sought after soloists and chamber musicians.

On Sunday 7 June, violinist Elvin Ganiyev presents a programme of French Masterpieces alongside pianist Megan-Geoffrey Prins with works by Debussy, Ravel and Franck. This concert is presented in collaboration with the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.

All Concerts take place on Sunday afternoons at 15:00 in the Linder Auditorium, Wits Education Campus, Parktown. There is safe, easy to find parking and on-site refreshments of coffee, tea, wine and snacks.
