For the very first time ever, the magnetic and soul-stirring Buhlebendalo graces the stage of The Black Power Station, merging the powerful energies of her acclaimed albums Chosi and Hele into one unforgettable evening.

Joined by her phenomenal #FamBand ,Luyolo Poni on bass, Simamkele Mataties on drums, Sibusiso Malindzisa on keys, and vocalists Koketso Langa and Sia Mzizi :Buhlebendalo brings a performance that transcends sound and becomes ceremony.

Born in the vibrant heart of Soweto, Buhlebendalo rose to prominence as part of the beloved group The Soil, before stepping into her solo journey one guided by spirit, rhythm, and ancestral calling. Her voice has echoed across Europe, Asia, America, and now returns home to awaken the spirit of Ntu in Makhanda.

Her works Chosi and Hele are not just albums they are spiritual dialogues, healing soundscapes, and poetic prayers for self-discovery. When she steps on stage, the drum becomes heartbeat, her voice becomes medicine, and the air itself transforms.

With an impressive list of performances that include Shaka iLembe (2023), Joy of Jazz (2023), Luju Festival (2025), and the Folklore Festival alongside icons like Simphiwe Dana, Sjava, Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse, Mahotella Queens, and Andile Yenana, Buhlebendalo continues to weave new paths between art, healing, and heritage.

As part of its commitment to community upliftment, The Black Power Station will donate its share of the event proceeds to Amai Academy an abandoned school in Farmeer Field, Makhanda, currently being revamped and repurposed into a vibrant Early Childhood Development centre, Art School, and Skills Development Academy. Amai Academy is dedicated to holistic education and empowerment in this small farming community, and your attendance directly supports its rebirth.
