LIVESTOCK ACADEMY
Landbouweekblad’s (sister publication of African Farming) Livestock Academy brings farmers and experts together in Bothaville to find practical solutions for problems in the livestock sector on 16 October at Nampo Park in Bothaville, Free State.
Livestock farmers face various challenges, e.g., foot-and-mouth disease, fluctuating prices, and shifting markets that reduce profit margins. However, some farmers are not just adapting – they are moving forward and succeeding.
The message is clear: crises can set you back, but they can also teach you how to succeed.
This is not just another seminar where you go home with notes and nothing changes. Farmers can look forward to practical knowledge and tips, as well as the chance to ask experts questions directly. The programme covers both the big picture and the daily details of livestock farming.
The day combines theory and practice. In the morning, you might listen to a BFAP analysis on international meat prices. Later, you could stand with an experienced livestock farmer and stockman next to an animal to learn how a functional, efficient animal makes you more money.
The Livestock Academy is not just about knowledge but also about coming together. Farmers can exchange experiences and forge new relationships. When farming can easily become lonely work, such a day brings people together again and reminds them that the sector is stronger when there is cooperation.
Tickets cost R750 each. A ticket also includes access to Nampo Alfa. Besides the speakers, there will be exhibitors, and guests can enjoy lunch together
