The Snuffle-Shuffle Sunset Walk – Because Ordinary Walks Are So… Last Season
Tired of boring walks around the block? Your dog is. Trust us.
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, the tail-wagging athletes, the sniff-every-bush enthusiasts, and the downright adorable couch potatoes are all gathering at The Parks Fresh Produce & Pizzeria, Benoni for the Snuffle-Shuffle Sunset Walk – A gentle sunset stroll with like-minded dog lovers, this is not a race, but a fun, tail-wagging walk for everyone to enjoy, and you’re invited!
Here’s the deal:
- The first 100 doggies to register at 15h00 as well as the first 100 doggies to register at 16h00 will get a FREE, fabulously fashionable bandana. (Yes, humans, you’ll have to buy your own accessories.)
- Registration & Starting Times
- 2km - 15h00 Registration for Small breed, Senior Dogs and Puppies 5 - 12 Months
- 2 km - 15h30 Walk starts
- 5km - 16h00 Registration for Medium and Large breed dogs - No puppies
- 5km - 16h30 Walk Starts
- The Snuffle-Shuffle Showdown, where your dog could win bragging rights in categories for both male and female like:
- Most Unusual Looking Dog (a polite way of saying “one-of-a-kind gorgeous”)
- Oldest Dog (wisdom in whiskers)
- Biggest Dog (bonus points if they think they’re lap-sized)
- Smallest Dog (portable perfection)
- Fluffiest Dog (warning: may cause strangers to squeal)
- Awards Ceremony at 18h30
- Food & refreshments from The Parks
- Live music to keep tails wagging
- Fur-st Aid Unit for those emergencies (the dog kind, not the humankind… although we won’t judge).
Don’t have a dog? No problem! You’re still welcome to join the walk – even if your “dog” is imaginary, inflatable, or borrowed from a friend.
So, grab your leash, your sense of humour, and that dog who secretly thinks they’re a celebrity and we will see you at the Snuffle-Shuffle!
Event Terms and Conditions:
- All Dogs must be on a secure collar/ harness and lead and under an adult’s control at all times. (no lead no walk)
- Please pick up after your dog by making use of the poop bags available at the event or bring your own along with you.
- Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Puppies under five (5) months may not participate.
- Puppies between five (5) and twelve (12) months may only participate in the 2km walk.
- Dogs easily overheat, so participants must ensure each dog is in good health and is given access to water along the route and at the start and finish.
- Participants must take extra special care with snub-nosed dogs such as pugs, bulldogs, etc. and seek medical assistance at the Fur'st Aid tent if the dog displays breathing difficulties.
- Know your dog’s ability and choose the most suitable distance for the walk and have regular rest and water stops at water and rest stops along the way.
- Should you have any concerns about your dogs’ ability to participate in the walk, please consult a veterinarian before entering the event.
