VOORSMAKIE: KYKNET DOKUMENTÊRE REEKS | SNEAK PEEK: KYKNET DOCUMENTARY SERIES

Sedert 2023 sluit die Silwerskermfeesprogram ook voorskoue van opwindende nuwe televisie- en stroomdiens-inhoud in. Dit beteken dat die kontemporêre Afrikaanse filmkuns nou in al sy gedaantes gehuisves, gestimuleer en gevier word by die unieke netwerkgeleentheid wat die fees bied. Dokumentêre, loodsepisodes van dramareekse en realiteits- en vermaaklikheidsprogramme word vertoon, en hierdie TV-storievertellers geniet die glans en swier van die fees saam met hul eweknieë in die filmbedryf.

Since 2023, the Silwerskermfees programme line-up started to include sneak peeks of television and streamer content as a vibrant addition to the festival. This means the Afrikaans film content landscape is now hosted, stimulated and celebrated in its entirety at the unique networking opportunity the festival offers. Feature-length documentaries, pilot episodes of drama series and reality and entertainment shows are screened, and these storytellers enjoy the glitz and glamour of the festival alongside their filmmaking peers.

Daar is ’n sterk fokus op die temas van identiteit, onderwys, die werksplek en politiek.

jou MASE taal explores brown and black Afrikaans-speaking people’s complicated relationship with the language. The series delves into how people engage with the language; how it makes them feel and how they embrace or reject Afrikaans. There is a strong focus on the themes of identity, education, the workplace and politics.
