ABOUT
Amahubo Symphony by Mbuso Khoza 28 September 2025
We are proud to announce that Amahubo Symphony – a powerful, immersive cultural and musical experience by Mbuso Khoza.
Set against this iconic heritage site, this will serve as the official kick-off of the Amahubo Symphony journey – celebrating Zulu identity, ancestral knowledge, and oral tradition. The performance will be at Constitution Hill in Johannesburg for a second staging on 28 September 2025.
Amahubo Symphony commemorates Ukwandulelisa, the sacred rite of remembrance, through a majestic presentation of 8 horns and 16 voices, delivering periodised music reflecting the reigns of each Zulu king – from King Malandela to King Misuzulu kaZwelithini. The production also features Amahubo Ezibongo, rare praise songs drawn from various Zulu surnames and clans, offering a unique oral archive of identity and heritage.
This is more than a concert — it is a cultural awakening, a re-anchoring of identity, and an urgent act of preservation.
