Gretna and Carla | Johnman Concerts

Experience an evening of highlights from composers spanning from the 1800s to the 20th century presented by Gretna Heynike, violin, and Carla van der Westhuizen, piano. The programme will include works of Beethoven, Rachmaninoff, Piazolla and a few modern composers. This duo has walked a long road together from starting together in their first year of music studies until their master’s degrees. Although their paths have diverged, with Gretna playing for the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra and Carla pursuing her PhD in choral conducting, they have remained musical liasons (and of course friends.) They are thrilled at the opportunity to share their talent with audiences outside an academic context.
