Dié kategorie wat gevestigde filmmakers befondsing en ’n geleentheid bied om hul vakmanskap ten toon te stel, is vir die tweede jaar deel van die fees. ’n Voorwaarde vir deelname aan hierdie kategorie is dat die filmmakers ook minder ervare tegniese spanlede moet mentor.

This category, which offers established filmmakers funding and a platform to showcase their craft at the festival, is part of the festival for the second time this year. A condition for participation in the category is that the filmmakers mentor less-experienced team members.

Die Superette is ’n aksie-komedie wat afspeel teen ’n wilde pas in ’n kafee op die hoek. Tannie Sonja is die skerp, voete-op-die-aarde-kassier by die winkel wat alomgeliefd is vir haar hartlikheid en humorsin. Wanneer twee gemaskerde rowers, Bompie en Lange, inbars en geld eis, ontaard die situasie vinnig in ’n gyselaarsdrama. Maar Sonja bly koelkop en gebruik haar ratse verstand, humor en koppigheid om die rowers te ontwyk en haar klante tot aksie oor te haal. Die Superette, wat op een deurlopende tydlyn afspeel, is ’n spannende wedloop teen tyd en ’n wipwaritkomedie oor ’n gemeenskap wat reg en geregtigheid in eie hande wil neem, maar niks verloop volgens plan nie.

Die Superette is a fast-paced action-comedy set in a small corner shop. Auntie Sonja is the sharp-witted, no-nonsense cashier at the store loved for her warmth and humour. When two masked robbers, Bompie and Lange, burst in demanding cash, things spiral into a full-blown hostage mess. Cool-headed and quick, Sonja uses her humour and street smarts to outplay the robbers and rally her customers into action. Set in real time, Die Superette is a tense race against a ticking clock and a rollercoaster of comedy and community justice, where nothing goes as planned.
