1. From Idea to Form: Discover how a single idea can evolve into a novel, a screenplay, a poem, a radio play—or even a building.
2. The Art of Adaptation: Learn how to consciously shape your stories into the form that best fits their essence.
3. Medium Matters: Understand the function and impact of various storytelling forms, and how to use each to connect with your ideal audience.

This is a workshop that is all about learning how to listen to your story, collaborate with its core, and shape it into the form that will allow it to live most fully in the world. It’s also about making meaningful connections with other creatives—and forms part of a growing initiative to connect artists and creatives from diverse disciplines across Cape Town—building a more collaborative, inclusive creative ecosystem.

Your Facilitators:

Tanika Paschke-Moloi is a writer, multidisciplinary artist, and founder of Hatua Kali, a creative agency and social impact organisation blending storytelling, design, education, and activism. With over a decade of experience, she specialises in relational healing through creative communication and supports individuals and organisations in expressing authentic, impactful stories. Her writing explores music, culture, history, and geopolitics, drawing inspiration from literary voices like Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Chimamanda Adichie, and Arundhati Roy.

Matthew Kalil is a writer, director, script editor, and educator with over 20 years of experience in the film and television industries. Author of The Three Wells of Screenwriting, he teaches internationally and currently lectures at the David Lynch Graduate School of Cinematic Arts. His work often explores themes of identity and sexuality, illuminating the spaces where individuals seek liberation and freedom within pressurized and unequal social structures.
