MEGAN-GEOFFREY PRINS piano

MAYUMI KANAGAWA’s musical personality is enriched by her American-Japanese background. Now based in Berlin, she is a Gold Medallist at the George Enuscu Competition, a Silver Medallist at the Long-Thibaud Crespin Competition (Paris), and also a Prize Winner at the Tchaikovsky Violin Competition in Moscow. A seasoned concerto soloist with orchestras all over Europe, she has also established herself as a versatile chamber musician, and she is praised for her rich, dark sound and engaging musicality. Her wide-ranging repertoire takes her from Bach to Britten and Berg and – despite her busy performance schedule – she also teaches at Bremen’s Hochschule für Musik.
MEGAN-GEOFFREY PRINS has been heard extensively as soloist and collaborative artist, not only in South Africa, but in Canada, Europe, the USA and Hong Kong. A SAMRO Scholarship holder, he studied with Antonio Pompa-Baldi in Cleveland, USA, where he won may prizes at the Cleveland Institute of Music. He currently serves as lecturer in piano at the University of Pretoria.
