Launch of Casabio Citizen Science Platform and NGO

I'm excited and delighted to announce the launch of the NGO, CASABIO, who have developed Africa's first Biodiversity Engine! After incredible rains the veld is going to be alive with flowering action waiting to be documented and showcased. Dr David Gwynne-Evans through Casabio has spent 20 years developing an online platform for documenting and sharing plants, animals and fascinating discoveries in the wild. Comedian Mark Sampson will host the launch, with botanical presentations by Casabio's own Naked Botanist as well as celebrated horticulturist Adam Harrower of Kirstenbosch. A variety of theatrical and unusual performances lead to the 1st National Casabio Award Ceremonies honouring our wilderness heroes. After a buffet featuring wholesome and local flavours and ingredients. The evening will end with an auction of associated rarities, the highlight being the naming of the recently discovered golden Hermannia.
