Disaster! The musical- brought to you by ALAS Academy of Performing Arts.

ALAS brought us the out of this world Return to the Forbidden Planet in 2023 - with two sold out shows and standing ovations, they return this year and they bring you; DISASTER! a 70's movie-musical! Staged at the beautiful historic Masque Theatre in Muizenberg!

Disaster! is a jukebox musical comedy created by Seth Rudetsky and written by Rudetsky and Jack Plotnick.

The plot follows a group of Americans that attend the opening of a floating casino and discothèque that quickly succumbs to multiple disasters. These calamities correlate with plots of various disaster films of the 1970s, such as burning infernoearthquake and poseidon adventure. 70's hits take centre stage and what begins as a night of boogie fever quickly changes to panic as the ship succumbs to the inevitable.

As the night turns into day, everyone struggles to survive and, quite possibly, repair the love that they've lost... or at least... escape the killer rats!!?

Expect an evening of laughs, song, foot tapping disco drama and feel good chaos!

Director and Musical Director: Amy Leigh Hart (ALAS Academy)

Choreography: Meagan Miller (Movement and Miller)
