Sadly, due to an injury, Kontras will not be able to perform on this day anymore. They have promised to make it up with an even better show as soon as they are back on their feet (literally).
In their place (which also includes one of the members of Kontras), please welcome the reigning champions of Aandklas' Battle of the Bands; THE GOVT.!

It's been a while since these legends have graced the Aandklas stage, so be sure not to miss a show you won't be able to see soon again... Afrikaans rockers Kontras will be joined by the masterful lap steel guitar talents of Hugo Veldsman as well as the raw songwriting talents of Werner Bekker on the 20th of April only at Aandklas Stellenbosch.
Kontras:
An Afrikaans 4-piece that has made waves in the South African music scene; known for their wide mix of genres that they effortlessly blend together. You will rock, party, and cry, all in one show. This Stellenbosch band never fails to bring their explosive brand to any stage.
Hugo Veldsman:
The lap steel guitar has become a quintessential feature within his performances and creative output, channelling his love for Americana and Blues. His style is further rooted in his “alternative folk” songwriting, heavily influenced by his finger-picking technique adopted from his training as a classical guitarist at the Stellenbosch Conservatorium.
Werner Bekker:
Werner Bekker, a masterful singer-songwriter, effortlessly weaves tales through his acoustic melodies, evoking raw emotions and connecting deeply with his audience. His relatable and meaningful lyrics paint vivid pictures, inviting listeners on a journey of introspection and resonance.
