Help our development team grow

Mid South Coast Crew is a new development team in the Umdoni area of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa.

We are an independent team and the girls who will make up our team will attend different schools and are from all different backgrounds in the Umdoni area. Majorettes and Performance Cheerleading teach these young ladies to work together and unite under a team sport despite their race, culture, and upbringing. Discipline and commitment from the athletes are the key ingredients to make a good Majorette and Performance Cheerleader and to have a cohesive team. The girls will practice for many hours to fine-tune their displays which include multiple props, formations, and footwork, combining dance and drill moves to make up marches, displays, and dances.

Majorettes and Cheerleading can be expensive and as a development team, we have to already keep fees low to not only build the team but also expose this excellent sport to as many people as possible and help them develop and grow their skills to potentially join the ranks of South Africa's elite.

Majorettes and Performance Cheerleading is a competitive sport, and we hope to travel around KZN to compete in provincial competitions, as well as travel across South Africa for the Annual National Championships. We fall within the KwaZulu Natal Majorette and Cheerleading Association, governed by the South African Majorette and Cheerleading Association. Athletes can obtain their provincial and national colours and even represent South Africa at the World Majorette and Cheerleading competitions, potentially obtaining Protea colours through the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee.

We are therefore asking for donations to help subsidize the cost of new equipment/apparel, scholarships for players who can’t afford to pay, and travel expenses so that we can include as many athletes as possible. We do not believe in turning potential athletes away just because of their financial situations, so we work tirelessly to secure funds to include all who are interested in the sport.

All donations received will go towards:

• A variety of props which include: Tall flags, double flags, poms poms, maces, and batons. These are essential as without them it is not possible to practice or build the girl's skills, nor compete.

• Uniforms for the athletes – these will include t-shirts, unitards, boots, sneakers, and tracksuits or pants and jackets.

• Competition essentials – including gazebos for shelter, kit bags, make-up, and medical kits.

• Assistance with travel costs to the regional competitions and national competitions should the opportunity arise.

• Subsidising the fess of athletes that can not afford them.

We trust that with your help our team will be able to grow and flourish into a formidable team in which our athlete can grow their skills not only in the sport but those that will help them navigate through life in the future.
