ABOUT

Embark on a captivating musical journey as Siyabonga Maqungo (Tenor) and Florian Uhlig (piano) present a mesmerizing program featuring two masterpieces of German Lieder: Beethoven's "An die ferne Geliebte" and Schumann's poignant "Dichterliebe." Beethoven's groundbreaking song cycle takes us on a lyrical exploration of love's longing, while Schumann's "Dichterliebe" delves into the emotional depths of a poet's journey through heartbreak. The expressive richness of Robert Schumann, selecting from the composer's evocative repertoire, complements these vocal works. Join us for an evening of sublime melodies, heartfelt poetry, and virtuosic piano artistry, as these performers brings these timeless works to life in an unforgettable performance that transcends the boundaries of language and time.
