Wetlands Walk & Talk 2024
Sat Feb 24, 08:30 - Sat Feb 24, 11:30
The Sheds, Crocodile River Reserve
ABOUT
The Egoli Granite Grasslands of the CRR is an endangered ecosystem with only 4% remaining, but within this rare natural area you will find another ecosystem that is also endangered and is crucial to the wellbeing of our water systems. Understanding how something works and what its purpose is, is the first step towards recognising its value. Wetlands improve the quality of our water, play a role in the prevention of flooding, have an inordinate variety of flora and provide food and habitats for many different animal species.
If you are keen to spend a glorious morning outdoors in nature and gain insight into this intricate ecosystem, please join us on our Wetlands Walk and Talk on Saturday the 24th of February led by Frank Mohlele, who has an honours in Geography, majoring in GIS and remote sensing, as well as additional training in wetlands.
