Having made her debut on Cape Town stages, encompassing an enchanting feature on Expresso in 2023, Ne-ahtyah, an African jazz singer, songwriter and performer born in Clarkebury eNgcobo, returns to the Mother City in 2024 with two offerings entitled, “Khangela, Uzibone."
Accompanied by her quintet, Ne-ahtyah’s set-list will embody the theme by presenting original music including the reflective, meditative and encouring song “Khangela, uzibone”, which should inspire listeners in its dual meaning to seek and see themselves for who they are, the light they carry and to remember that all they seek is within them.
The selection of music will personify the essence of who this singer really is and also honour the distinguishable musicians who have inspired her on her journey and have in their music carried the same affirming message, “to seek and find yourself neentsikelelo zakho.”
She will be live on Sunday, the 25th of February at The Commons.
