"From the quirky to the sublime, from Olympic athletes to high schoolers, the characters in this film show that there’s no one way to do the hardest thing you’ve ever done."

Join us for the South African premier of Race To Alaska.

This documentary presents the history and some of the participants in the Race to Alaska - a nautical test involving dangers, hardships and trials of character. The race has changed the lives of hundreds of people and involves traversing one of the most complex waterways in the world involving 15 knot currents, monster whirlpools, gale force winds, cold water, rocks, logs, bears, fog, fear, fatigue and endless unknowns. And for what? First prize is $10,000. Second prize is a set of steak knives. But not every reward is tangible and not every situation is without beauty and recompense. This inspiring feature length video explores the adventurous individuals who accept this utterly unique challenge, both those who succeed and those who do not.
