ABOUT
Join us for a free workshop focusing on Maintenance and Family Law. Our community of professionals is dedicated to facilitating discussions on the relevant challenges encountered in court by parents, court officials, attorneys, mediators, and social workers as well as members of the public. We aim to establish safe environments where we can collaboratively seek solutions to various pressing issues pertaining to Maintenance.
This month, our focus is on protecting the rights of parents in the court system. We are honoured to have an amazing lineup of speakers, offering valuable insights into the diverse challenges that impact parents within our justice system:
Ms. Bongelwa Qandashe (MC/Host): The Voice of the vulnerable women and children in Family Courts – how can the NPA Community Dialogues assist mothers in Family courts and maintenance courts.
Advocate Jeandre Goliath: Ante-nuptial contracts and spousal maintenance
Can a ANC clause excluding spousal maintenance be enforced in maintenance applications for spousal maintenance?
Ronel Ras (mediator): Non compliance with Rule 43 High Court orders
How can a mother complain without going to the High Court. J470 and founding affidavit.
Ms Shireen Rawoot (Wynberg Sexual Offences Courts): Will be discussing protective measures in courts. Section 158 audio visual links.
Liezel Cronje: Support for Women in Maintenance Courts. Discussing innovative best practice in the Western Cape. Notifying one another of dates the mothers going to court and supporting one another.
Advocate Jeandre Goliath: What types of High Court Divorce orders can be varied by the maintenance courts
Advocate Deon Ruiters (NPA Senior Prosecutor maintenance): How can attorneys, mediators and family law practitioners assist family law courts and maintenance matters.
Ms. Bongelwa Qandashe (MC/Host): Next SOCA Community Dialogue is on Saturday 25 November 2023 (start of 16 days of activism of no violence against women and children)

As these are free events, they are volunteer run, please honour and respect our volunteers and guest speakers time.
***We have limited space for children, booking tickets for your children and not pitching takes opportunity away from a parent that needs it. Also we rely on volunteers in the kiddies corner, if kids do not pitch volunteers end up coming in for nothing (they give up their Saturday for us). Please ONLY book a kiddies ticket if you intend coming. Repeated no shows will be not be allowed to book a ticket in future.
