The Danel Dippenaar Quartet

Danél is a sought-after multi-instrumentalist based in Muizenberg. She grew up next to the SA Navy Band rooms in Simon’s Town where her parents rehearsed and performed with the band. It was this early musical exposure that inspired Danél to begin playing the piano, flute, clarinet and saxophone. 

To celebrate women's month, Danél's quartet will present works from Terri Lyne Carrington's recently published book 'New Standards: 101 Lead Sheets By Women Composers’, including works by Toshiko Akiyoshi, Maria Schneider, Alexa Tarantino, Camille Thurman, and many more.
