The Price of Blood (2023)

It's Never that Simple

In a world where the extraordinary is hidden just under the surface, Vox, a nonbinary paranormal private investigator, fresh from a tokoloshe hunt, is tasked with finding a missing woman, Mihle, by her desperate father, a cabinet minister. Vox uses their magic to speed up their investigation, choosing not to rely on others. This leads Vox to discover that Mihle was taken captive by a vampire, Tobais. Using some less than legal shortcuts and the unfortunate death of Emily, Tobais’ thrawl; Vox tracks down Tobais’s lair. Here Vox finds clues that they may already have been too late, but their ego causes them to overlook these. Vox finds what appears to be an injured Mihle (A disguised Tobais) and is almost killed when the monster reveals his true form. The resulting struggle causes Tobais to die and Vox to be heavily injured. Mihle is saved, but left changed, now a vampire too.

This is the movie we're trying to make. It's called The Price of Blood, and we need a little help making it happen. We're a group of students in our final year at CityVarsity School of Media & Creative Arts and this 20-minute short film is our graduation project.
