There are excerpts from The Magic Flute, Carmen, Faust and Cavalliera Rusticana, and in the second half the famous sextet from Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor. The programme closes with the Slave Chorus from Verdi’s Nabucco and the mighty Triumphal March from his opera Aida.
