Wielgegooide items van erdewerk en porseleinklei word met handboutegnieke gekombineer om werke te produseer waarin daar ’n fyn balans in vorm, funksie, kleur en tekstuur is. Dit steun op die Japannese filosofie van wabi-sabi, wat skoonheid definieer as onvolmaak, onbestendig en onvolledig.

Wheel-thrown items of pottery and porcelain clay are combined with handcraft techniques to produce works that find a balance between form, function, colour and texture. Swart’s work draws on the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, which defines beauty as imperfect, impermanent and incomplete.
